#Perumal Murugan (1966), Retired( voluntary) Principal of Anna college in Namakkal, is the author of eleven novels and five collections of short stories, poems and memoir as well as ten books of nonfiction. He is the Winner of ILF Samanvay Bhasha Samman 2015. His ‘One Part Woman’ and Poonachi were Long listed for the ‘2018 National Book Awards’ for Translated Literature and ‘Pyre’ short listed for the JCB Prize and Atta Galatta – BLF award in 2018 for Translated Literature. His ‘Seasons of the Palm’ was shortlisted for the Kiriyama Prize. Pyre is presently longlisted for the International Booker Prize.#
